Maurice Griffin

Known for his YouTube videos, leading worship at the National Gospel Music Workshop of America, and being a Finalist on Season 2 of B.E.T.’s Sunday Best, Maurice Griffin is no stranger to the music industry.  He is a powerhouse, an atmosphere changer, a well skilled vocalist who can do it all in less than 60 secs if he had to.

 

Maurice has sold over 11,000 units from his debut project; I Am Somebody, causing him to be considered as a New Artist of The Year Nominee for The 2013 Gospel Stellar Awards. His influences are many but Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Daryl Coley were the first. Maurice’s vocal ability enables him a diverse musical style that reaches difference ethnic backgrounds; in this situation a rare case.

 

Maurice got his start singing with New Direction under the direction of Percy and Jeral Gray out of Chicago, IL. He became wise in business and developed his own music production company; M.G.M. Chicago Music Group; a company that specializes in musical productions & events. Maurice’s biggest support came from the church and the church has always been integral throughout his life.

 

Maurice is currently the Director of Worship at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Though he moved to Florida, Maurice is proud to be a product of Chicago, IL where he was raised. 

 Maurice Griffin was Born May 19, 1986 in Hampton, VA to his mom Lenora Griffin and his father Glenwood Griffin Sr whom is and has always been Maurice’s #1 support team. Maurice is the middle child of three sons, youngest son, Alex Griffin, oldest son, Glenwood Griffin Jr.

 

 

Newly signed to PT Media Group; a label birthed out of Atlanta, GA ran by President William Toney III, Maurice Griffin’s goal is to impact not only the church but the world.
